In Daniel's Own Words
For 15 years, I worked in the painting and decorating industry, and one of the most frustrating and painful parts of my job was something so simple — caulking. Every day, I used my own finger to smooth sealant around coving, door frames, skirting boards, and window frames.
After long hours on large projects, my fingers became sore, damaged, and covered in messy sealant. I also experienced splinters, sharp edges, and cuts. I knew there had to be a better solution.
During one large new-build project, after spending days smoothing hundreds of metres of caulk, my fingertips were left in such poor condition that I decided to find a better way. I searched for existing products, but nothing could match the control, accuracy, and finish that my own finger could achieve.
Then I discovered a silicone finger cover and decided to adapt it specifically for the decorating industry. After redesigning and improving the concept, including adding a protective reinforced tip, I created a product that worked like a glove — protecting my finger while still allowing the precision needed for a professional finish.
